Yes, I’m calling this “tiramisu.” No, this is not an authentic recipe. Yes, it is delicious. No, I’m not Italian nor have I seriously studied Italian cuisine. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I’d like to present a delicious, easy recipe for Cappuccino Yogurt Tiramisu.
There are some really delicious and luxurious flavored yogurts on the market these days and one of my favorites in the cappuccino flavor in the Liberté brand. So, when I was asked to develop a dessert recipe using that flavor, of course the first thing I thought of was tiramisu.
In this recipe, I substitute creamy, rich, cappuccino flavored yogurt in place of the traditionally used mascarpone. And being of a Southern mindset, I naturally threw in some toasted pecans.
There’s little to no cooking involved in this recipe (always a plus in the summer months) and it is certainly elegant enough to serve as the finale for your next dinner party. BeeBop gave it two thumbs up and he doesn’t even like coffee.
How to Make Cappuccino Yogurt Tiramisu
Toast the pecan halves in a 350 degree preheated oven until lightly browned. Remember they toast very quickly, so as soon as you smell them, remove them from the oven. Let the pecans cool before proceeding with the recipe.
Whip the cream and sugar until fairly stiff. Now you can begin assembling the tiramisu.
The package of ladyfingers will contain two long layers each split in half. Place the bottom half of a layer of ladyfingers on a small serving dish. Spoon over two tablespoons of coffee.
Top with half of the toasted pecans.
Top the pecans with the top half of the first layer of split ladyfingers.
Spread with half the cappuccino yogurt.
Top with half of the whipped cream.
Repeat with the remaining ingredients to create a second layer same as the first.
Sprinkle the top with powdered cocoa. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to blend. Serves 4.

Hi, Lana….this looks delicious and just perfect for summer. We do not have the Liberte brand yogurt in Washington State, at least I have never spotted it. Is it a low-fat or full-fat yogurt? I am thinking I could make this with either one. Thanks :)
Hi Pat. I don’t know where in Washington you are located, but I did a product search on Liberte’s web site for Seattle and came up with lots of sources. Liberte is a sumptuous yogurt made with whole milk and cream. If you can find it, you’ll love it. But you could use other brands in this recipe if you want.
Oh. My. Goodness. So simple and yet so decadent! Pinned for my next party!
Hope you enjoy it, Jessica!
I am seriously OBSESSED with Liberté’s yogurts. I haven’t tried the cappuccino flavour yet, but trust me, I’m totally running to the store to pick some up after seeing this gorgeous dessert. Love this clever take on the classic tiramisu concept. :)
Thanks much, Isabelle! Seriously, I don’t know of another brand that compares with Liberte. The word that always comes to mind is “luscious.”
This looks like such a simple, tasty recipe. I can’t believe your short list of ingredients! I feel totally inspired. Thanks for sharing!!
It couldn’t be simpler, Rose! Just a few ingredients and some assembly. Great for summer when it’s just too hot to cook.
It is hot here! That looks like a wonderfully cool and decadent dessert. Bring it on down.
Miss P
It is really nice right out of the refrigerator. Cool and creamy. Great for hot south Georgia days!
it looks delicious!
You are so smart to use Liberté cappuccino yogurt in this recipe. I bet it is delicious and it looks beautiful! P.S. love the pecans too.
Thanks, Ginny. Love Liberte yogurt and a few pecans never hurt anything!
Oh my. This sounds absolutely decadent!
I’ll admit it is a bit on the decadent side. The Liberte yogurt is especially luscious.
I like this take on tiramisu!! “Authentic” or not, this looks amazing. I’m Italian and have never even attempted it!
I do like to make the real thing on occasion, but I thought this was a good adaptation. Plus, the yogurt is incredibly delicious.
I agree with Elizabeth! I don’t care if it’s authentic or not when it looks that good!
Thank you, Amanda. It is really good if I do say so myself.

Thanks, Elizabeth! A lot of people are touchy about authenticity, so I thought I’d get that out of the way right up front :-)
