These oh-so-cute Chocolate Pretzel Spiderwebs are absolutely perfect Halloween treats! They’re easy as pie to make and all your little trick-or-treaters will be crazy about them.

Halloween in our neighborhood is so much fun! We’re a small subdivision with just a little over 100 families and lots of little kids live here. We can always count on Halloween night seeing our street filled with stormtroopers, princesses, vampires, and that’s just the adults :-)
Halloween night is the time to make something warm and filling, like my Garlicky Beef Stew (keeps the vampires away!), for the adults and all the fun treats you can come up with for the kids! In years past, I’ve made Halloween chocolate bark, Graveyard Cupcakes, and even Banana Monster Pops.
But, this year I’ll be offering these cute treats to everyone who shows up at our door. They take just minutes to make and are a great combination of salty, crunchy, and sweet.
🛒 Ingredients and Supplies

- White Chocolate Chips (You’ll need good quality white chocolate chips for this recipe. Cheaper brands often contain ingredients that don’t melt or firm up well.)
- Pretzel Sticks (Any brand, any length is fine. The longer the pretzel sticks, the larger your spiderwebs will be. If you’d like to make this recipe gluten-free, try Snyder’s brand gluten-free pretzel rods.)
- Black Writing Gel (You’ll find this in your grocery’s cake decorating section – look where you’d usually find the birthday candles, etc. It’s also available at places like Michaels and Hobby Lobby.)
- M&Ms in Halloween Colors (A mix of orange, purple, and lime green M&Ms is usually available around Halloween.)
- Coconut Oil (One of the “good for you” oils.)
- Piping Bag (If you don’t have a piping bag, I’ll explain in the text below how to use a plain old zip-top bag for this.)
- Parchment Paper (You can also use a silicone baking mat, waxed paper, or foil.)

🔪 How to Make Chocolate Pretzel Spiderwebs
Prepare a Baking Sheet
Line a baking or cookie sheet with parchment paper (or a silicone baking mat, waxed paper, or foil).
Form “Spiderwebs” with Pretzel Sticks
Position pretzel sticks like the spokes in a wheel for as many webs as you can fit on a cookie sheet. I’d suggest no fewer than 8 pretzels for stability. I often use a dozen or more. Form a circle with them with the ends of all the pretzels meeting in the center.
Melt the Chocolate Chips
Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and stir. Continue microwaving and stirring in 20-second increments until the chips are melted.
Drizzle Chocolate over Pretzels
Fill your piping bag or zip-top bag with the melted chocolate pressing it down into the bottom or into one corner. The easiest way to do this is to place the bag into a cup and fold the sides down over the cup. Scoop the melted chocolate into the bag and pull up the sides to close. If using a ziplog bag, cut a tiny snip off of one corner.
Drizzle the melted chocolate in a circular motion to form the web, placing an extra dollop in the center to hold the pretzel ends together.

Make M&M Candy Spiders
Place a dollop of melted chocolate where you want to make a spider. Add an M&M on top and use black writing gel to draw on the legs.
Let the Webs Set
Place in the refrigerator to allow the chocolate to set up for 2-4 hours or if you’re in a hurry, place them in the freezer for one hour.
🍚 Storage Information
After the webs have set up and the chocolate is firm, very carefully remove them from the parchment paper using a thin, flat spatula. Store them loosely in a large container with a tight fitting lid. I find it helpful to place a sheet of parchment between each layer of treats.

I like to place the finished spiderwebs into individual treat bags and add a cute Halloween sticker.
I don’t specialize in any particular dietary needs, but it’s my understanding that there are several brands, including Snyder’s, that make gluten-free pretzel rods. My research also shows that all the Nestle brand chips (except butterscotch) are gluten-free.

Ingredients

- 3 teaspoons coconut oil

- Place 1 cup of the chocolate chips and 3 teaspoons of coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and stir. Continue microwaving and stirring in 20 second increments until the chips are melted.
